Inserting a Calendar in a Word Document

A calendar is a table, chart, instrument, or system that displays the number of days, weeks, months, and events in one year.

To insert a calendar in Microsoft Word, use the simplest and quickest techniques listed below.

Method 1: Using Word Templates

 Follow the simple steps below to insert a calendar into a Word document using Word Templates. -

Step 1: Begin by opening a new or existing Word document.

Step 2: In the top left corner of the document, select the File tab. On the screen, a list of File selections will appear. Click on the New.



Step 3: A window titled Available Templates will display on the screen where you can search for Calendars. Click on Calendars once you've found it.

 


Step 4: The screen will provide a list of possible templates. Choose the calendar that best meets your requirements.

 


Step 5: After you've chosen your calendar, click the Download option.




The screenshot below shows that a calendar is inserted to the Word document.





Method 2: Using Quick table option

You can easily manually construct a calendar in Microsoft Word by following the simple steps outlined below -

Step 1: Open the new Word document.

Step 2: Move the cursor to the location in the document where you want to create a calendar.

Step 3: On the Ribbon, go to the Insert tab and select the Table option from the Tables section.

 Step 4: A dialogue box titled Insert table will display on the screen. Click on the Quick tables.


Step 5: On the screen, a built-in window appears. Choose a calendar that meets your needs.

Method 3: Create a calendar manually

To manually construct a calendar in a Word document, follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Open the Word document into which you wish to insert a calendar. 

 Step 2: Choose the Insert tab from the Ribbon. Below the Ribbon, an Insert toolbar window will appear. In the Tables section, select the Table option.




Step 3: A dialogue box titled Insert Table will display on the screen. Select the number of rows and columns needed and press the Enter key on the keyboard.

 


Step 4: At the top of the row, type in the names of the days of the week, such as Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on. Expand all of the calendar's boxes to create the right shape for your calendar. Consider the screenshot below to view the calendar's original layout.

 


 Step 5: Begin adding the numbers in the box that corresponds to the first day of your month. To enter numbers into the calendar, use the number keys on your keyboard.




Step 6: After successfully creating your calendar, store it in the location of your choice. 

 

Sava a calendar

 Go to the File tab in the upper left corner of the screen to save the calendar. On the screen, a list of File selections will appear. Click on the Save As button.



A save as dialogue box displays, in which you can go to the spot where you want to save the file. When you've located the place, click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.

 

You can now see that your calendar has been saved in the selected location.
