How to create a logo in word

A logo is a graphic mark or symbol composed of stylized language, forms, images, or combinations of these three elements. It's used to identify a business, organisation, product, or brand.

A well-designed logo allows you to connect with your target audience and encourages them to interact with your business.

Components of a logo

A well-designed and appealing logo includes the following elements:

1. Colours

The combination of attractive colours used in the logo to attracts the audience to your brand and enhances your brand communication. In the logo, you can use black, white, or multicolour based on your requirement.

2. Typography

One of the most significant aspects of a logo is its typography. It is a craft that informs customers about what you have to give the audience.

3. Images

The image in the logo can be an icon or a symbol. It helps users to clearly identify the brand.

4. Tagline

Tagline is used under a logo. It is a sentence or catchphrases that easily clarify your audience that what your brand does.

5. Text

The most typical component of a logo is text. Always attempt to include fashionable and one-of-a-kind wording in your logo.


 Create a logo in Word document

Microsoft Word includes a variety of attractive phrases as well as shapes for creating visually appealing logos. Step 2: On the Ribbon, go to the View tab and select the Gridlines checkbox in the Show group.

Method 1: Create a simple logo

 

The steps for creating a logo in Word document utilising shapes and text boxes are as follows:

Step 1: Open either a new or current Word document.

Step 2: Navigate to the View tab on the Ribbon and select Gridlines Check the Show group's checkbox.



Step 3: On the Ribbon, go to the Insert tab and select the Shapes option in the Illustrations category.


Step 4: The screen will display a recently used form dialogue box. Drag the shape that you wish to put into your current document.


Step 5: When you drag a shape into the document, a Format tab appears on the screen. Click on the Shape Fill option under the Shape Style, A Theme colour window appears in which select the colour that you want to apply in the logo. 



Step 6: To add text to the logo, go to the Insert tab on the Ribbon and select the Text Box icon from the Text group.


Step 7: The screen will display the following window, in which you should click on the Draw Text Box button at the bottom.




Step 8: Inside your form, draw a text box and begin writing the words that you wish to include in the logo.



Step 9: Highlight the text and go to the home tab on the Ribbon. Choose the font and size for the theme that you wish to use for the text.




Step 10: After you've finished designing your logo, go to the View tab on the Ribbon and uncheck the gridlines checkbox.

Method 2: Create a visually appealing logo in a Word document.

 

An attractive logo includes Shapes, Outlines, WordArt, Colours, and Images to grab customer's attention. Microsoft Word 2007 and its latest versions contain various drawing tools on the Ribbon that help you to create an attractive logo.

Follow the instructions below to design an eye-catching logo in a Word document:

Step 1: Begin by opening a new blank Word document.

Step 2: Insert Shapes

1.     Go to Insert tab on the Ribbon and click on the Shapes option in the Illustrations group.

2.     A Recently Used Shapes dialog box will appear on the screen. Drag the image you wish to use for your logo into your current document.

The screenshot below shows that a simple logo is created in the Word document.

 


Step 3: Change the Outline

1.      To change the outline, click on the shape.

2.     format tab appears on the screen, click on it.

3.     Go to the coloured outline tab in the shape style. Select the coloured outline that you want to apply to the logo.


Step 4: Change outline weight

1.     To change the Shape Outline Weight, click on the Shape Outline tab in the Shape Styles.

2.     A Theme Colours dialog box will appear on the screen.

3.     Click on the Weight icon, a list of different sized weights will appear on the screen, select the weight size according to your requirement, as shown in the below screenshot.


Step 5: Insert Word Art in logo

To insert WordArt in Word 2010, follow the steps below:

1. To include Word Art in the logo, go to the File tab on the Ribbon and select Save As.


2. A Save as dialog box appears, click on the drop-down icon associated with the Save as type, and select Word 97-2003 Template (*.dot) from the drop- down menu.



3. The following screen will show; click the Continue option to proceed.


4. Go to the Insert tab and select the WordArt icon from the Text group.


5. A WordArt dialogue box displays; select WordArt based on your needs.


6. A window called Edit WordArt Text appears; enter the text you want to use and click the OK button at the bottom of the screen.


7. Select the text, then go to the Format tab and select the Wrap Text icon. A drop-down menu opens, and you should select In Front of Text.



8. Adjust the text according to your requirement.

The screenshot below shows that WordArt is added to the logo.



Step 6: Insert Pictures in the logo

Microsoft allows you to include images in your logo.

To incorporate a photo inside the logo, follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the Insert tab on the Ribbon and select Clip Art from the Illustration section.



2. A Clip Art dialogue box will appear in the document's right corner. Enter the image's name in the Search for: textbox and press the Go button.

 The dialogue box displays a list of related photographs. Drag the image into the document that you wish to use for the logo.







 3. Click on the image. Go to the Format tab and select Wrap text. As illustrated in the screenshot below, a Wrap Text drop-down menu appears; select In Front of Text.






4. Modify the image to fit your shape.

5. The image is included in the logo, as shown in the screenshot below.


Step 7: Add Colours in the logo

In Microsoft Word, you can add colours in the logo to make the logo more attractive and beautiful.

1. Select the shape in which you want to add colour.

2. Go to the Format tab and select colour in the Shape Styles.
